Privacy
This is a youth programme, so the shortest honest answer is the one that matters: this website keeps nothing about you or your child. When you buy from the store you pay on Square's own page, and only what the order needs goes to the people who fill it. The detail below says how that is true of each part of the site.

What we collect
Nothing is stored on this website. There are no accounts, no logins, no newsletter list, and no forms that save personal details. We hold no cadet records of any kind on this site. The store is the one place you hand over details, and you type them on Square's page, not ours (see The store below).
Cookies
None are set by us. Two things can be kept in your browser: a note that you dismissed the announcement strip at the top of the page, which clears when you close the tab, and your store cart, which stays on your device until you check out or empty it. Neither is a cookie, and neither is sent anywhere on its own.
The one exception is the map. The Home and Contact pages load a Google map when you scroll down to it, not before, and Google may set its own cookie at that moment. The "See the park on a map" link opens Google Maps in its own tab instead, where their rules apply and ours stop.
The contact form
The form builds a message and opens it in your own email app. You read it and you press send, so the message travels from your mail account to info@thesullivansusnscc.com exactly like any other email you write. Nothing you type is stored on this website or passed to a third party.
Before the draft opens, the form checks that a person rather than a bot filled it in, using Cloudflare Turnstile. Turnstile is a challenge, not a profile: it sets no cookie and does not track you across other sites. Our server checks the result of that challenge and keeps no record of the check or of your message.
The store
Your cart is kept in this browser until you check out. When you press Check out, our server receives only which items, sizes and quantities you picked, prices them from our own price list, and sends you to Square. It stores nothing and logs nothing about you.
On Square's secure page you give your name, email and card, the cadet's name so the division knows whose order it is, and for printed items a shipping address. Square handles that under its own privacy policy, and the division sees the order in its Square account. For printed items, the name, address and email needed for delivery go to our print partner, Printify, which prints and ships the order. We never see or hold a payment card.
Visitor numbers
We count page views with Cloudflare Web Analytics so we know whether recruiting is reaching anyone. It is cookie-free and it does not fingerprint your device or follow you to other websites. What we can see is aggregate: how many people opened a page, roughly where in the world they were, and which link sent them. We cannot see who you are.
Children
This site is written for parents and guardians, and it stores nothing from anyone of any age, so there is nothing here for a child to give away. Enrollment happens on the national Sea Cadets website, not on ours, and any information a family enters there is handled under that programme's own policy. Store orders are paid on Square's page.
Links and embeds that are not ours
Several pages link out to national Sea Cadets, to Google Maps, and to our social profiles, and the store's Check out button takes you to Square. Once you follow one of those, you are on someone else's site under their rules, not ours. The map is the only third-party thing that runs inside a page here. The store's photographs are served from this site.
Photographs
The photographs on this site are of cadets of The Sullivans Division, published with the unit's permission. Location and camera data is stripped from every image before it goes up. If you are a parent and you want a photograph of your cadet taken down, write to us and it comes down.
